마. Abstract : This talk explores the evolution of strategic communication, tracing its philosophical, economic, and linguistic foundations. Starting with David Lewis (1969)’s emergence of meaning and Crawford and Sobel (1982)’s insights on misaligned incentives, we navigate the theoretical underpinnings of meaning and grammar. The core of the presentation focuses on novel experimental evidence using sender-receiver games in the laboratory. Specifically, we demonstrate how meaning, compositional grammar, and logical operators organically emerge among interacting agents. By bridging these interdisciplinary perspectives—including recent work by Blume, Deimen, Leung, and Lim on emergence of negation—we offer fresh insights into communication dynamics and outline promising directions for future research.
